| OK, so we all know Trims for
Jeans sell the latest and
greatest brands from around
the globe. And lets face it,
that’s what matters right now.
What you might not know
though, is that Trims has been
around for quite a while now.
“So what?” you may ask. Well,
it’s kind of an interesting, and
dare we say cool story. |
Trims was actually started by
twins Alf and John. Which is
kind of funny, cause the
business could just as easily
have been called ‘Twins’
instead of ‘Trims’. But
seeingas their last name was
actually Trim, they went with
that. And fair enough too.
After dabbling in reconditioned
clothing, hiring out clothing,
and keeping a pretty funky range of antiques and |
jewellery, they eventually
started keeping fashion brands
with a strong Aussie flavour
and a great reputation.
Then, in 1987, the Trim’s guys
thought “You know what?
Finding a decent pair of jeans
at an honest price is way too
hard”. And lucky for the good
people of Adelaide, they then
did something about it and
Trims quickly became famous
for selling more Levis than any |
other store in the whole of the
Asia Pacific area. Pretty
impressive, eh?
About ten years after that,
more and more people know to
go to Trims for jeans, so
the ever-practical team
decide to rename the
department, well, ‘Trims for
Jeans’. Not that imaginative
admittedly, but hey, it was spot
on. Which brings us roughly up
until the current time. These days, there’s a few more |
stores, a fancy new logo, and
the range is much wider with
global footwear and fashion
brands galore, but the same
idea of selling great clothes at
great prices remains the same.
So while it’s kind of weird to
think Trims once sold
antiques and jewellery, it’s nice
to know that if you’re looking
for something snazzy to wear,
you can still go to Trims for
Jeans - your ultimate denim
destination. |
